We are making Kimono Kofu products.
What is KOFU?
Kofu, in Japanese, means used fabrics that can be repurposed. Owner Miruka personally selects each Kimono fabric, ensuring all are authentically made in Japan.
Some of the Kofu is over 100 years old and still retain their colour and vibrancy.
Materials are usually silk, cotton or linen.

Mirooka aspires to embody the value of craftsmanship and the importance of sustaining handwork.
When I see antique craftsmanship, I imagine the stories of the people who used it and the ones who created it. I want to create products that will evoke the same feeling for future generations.
Every product has a different fabric combination, since each Kofu is vintage and limited thus, they are all:
ONE OF A KIND.

“When I was a child, my mother often took me to her workplace. The shelves were packed with beautifully coloured and patterned fabrics imported from Europe. In her desk drawer, mixed in with pens and sewing tools, were unusual buttons adorned with gold and scraps of lace ribbons treasures that made the place feel magical to me as a child. When I discovered the charm of Kofu, I felt the same thrill all over again.”
